Behind The Fence
Fulham FC V Rotherham United FC
Matchday on 05-01-2024
Having spent five months in London, I hadn't found the time to attend a football match due to personal commitments. Finally, the day arrived when I could make it happen, albeit with a twist – I was battling the flu. Despite the less-than-ideal circumstances, I headed to the stadium, where the lights illuminated the night sky, creating a magical aura as I approached. The Craven Cottage, with its historic charm, particularly captivated my attention. After a brief stroll around the stadium, I marveled at the old section, my first encounter with such an age-old English venue, instantly falling in love with its character. Surprisingly, I breezed through the entrance without a security check after scanning my ticket. Thirsty and hungry, I headed to the bar, rating both the pint and sausage roll a modest 6/10. Perhaps the flu dulled my taste buds, as I struggled to fully appreciate the flavors.

Despite this, I continued to explore the stadium, attempting to capture its essence through my camera lens.
Seated in the stands, I admired the Craven Cottage's aesthetic beauty, though the anticipated electric atmosphere seemed to be missing. It dawned on me that perhaps I had chosen the wrong match. After capturing a few shots of the game, my flu symptoms intensified, and the overwhelming need to retreat to bed became undeniable. In the 35th minute, I made the decision to leave, hailed a taxi, and called it a day, acknowledging that sometimes, even the allure of a football match couldn't overcome the grip of a stubborn flu.
